What artifacts are

Artifacts are backable entities that represent real-world cultural and physical things: movies, music, videos, videogames, and objects (products, landmarks, items). Unlike people, characters, businesses, and brands, artifacts are static. They can be backed (you buy shares in them) but they do not invest in anything themselves. Because of that, dividends earned from artifacts tend to be higher than dividends earned from active profiles.

The four artifact types

• Movies. Film covers, trailers (YouTube embed), descriptions.
• Music. Cover art, listening via Spotify or YouTube embed, descriptions.
• Videos. Thumbnails, YouTube embed, descriptions.
• Videogames. Cover art, trailers, descriptions.
• Objects. Products, landmarks, items with cover images and descriptions.

How artifacts differ from profiles

• They do not have streaks or daily collection.
• They do not participate in battles or NPC simulation.
• They do not back other entities.
• They have their own leaderboard, separate from the main profile leaderboard.
• They can level up, but only when someone buys shares in them.
• They can be linked to profiles, brands, and businesses through associations.

Associations

Artifacts can be linked to entities: a music artifact associated with a brand profile, a movie artifact linked to a character. These associations show up on both the artifact profile and the entity profile, creating a discovery network.

How to submit an artifact

Choose a type, add details (name, description, media links), upload images, optionally link to existing entities, and submit for admin review. Start at Submit Artifact. After approval, your artifact appears on the Artifacts leaderboard alongside everything else the community is backing.
