Charlie B. Barkin is the German Shepherd/Border Collie mix protagonist of the *All Dogs Go to Heaven* franchise. Initially a con artist and gambler in 1939 New Orleans, he is murdered by his former business partner, Carface. After escaping Heaven, Charlie returns to Earth for revenge, befriending an orphan girl, Anne-Marie, who can talk to animals.
